Plot

'Lawrence & Holloman' dives deep into the twisted, darkly comedic world of two contrasting characters, whose lives intersect in extraordinary circumstances. Holloman, a cynical, suicidal accounting clerk, finds his melancholic existence disrupted by the arrival of Lawrence, an ever-optimistic suit salesman with an infectious zest for life. As Lawrence takes Holloman under his wing, he sets forth to teach him the secrets of staying positive, aiming to infuse him with a new, happier perspective on life. However, as Lawrence endeavours to turn Holloman's life around, his own begins to disintegrate in a tragicomic spiral of misfortune. From the painful abandonment by his fiancé, the loss of his job, the unexplained disappearance of his beloved dog, to the catastrophic destruction of his apartment - Lawrence's world shatters, bit by bit. Yet, even in the face of adversity, he continues his quest to instil hope in Holloman. At its core, 'Lawrence & Holloman' is an exploration of happiness, destiny, and human resilience. It asks profound questions - Is our happiness truly shaped by our outlook on life? Or can our fates be drastically pivoted by external forces, by another person even? Based on the wildly successful and critically acclaimed stage play by Morris Panych, this film is a unique blend of humor, pathos, and life's cruel ironies.
