In the heart of Spain, nestled within the ancient city of Toledo, Fidel, a man teetering on the edge of old age, embarks on a journey from Madrid. His destination is the honeymoon suite of Hotel Cigarral El Bosque, where he plans to spend a weekend with the young, strikingly beautiful Marisa, a colleague and budding actress. Fidel, a mature office worker, is a bundle of nerves, battling a whirlpool of uncertainty, fear, and shyness. He seeks in Marisa a final shot at experiencing passion and desire, something that has long since extinguished in his lifelong marriage with Elisa. However, Fidel's carefully laid plans begin to unravel when he stumbles upon Mario, a fellow colleague known for his womanizing ways, in the city for his own weekend escapade with his latest conquest, the Brazilian beauty, Irasema. Matters take a further dive for the worse when Marisa's flirtatious advances are rebuffed, sparking disagreements within the hotel and with the stern-faced manager, Elvira. The knot tightens when it's revealed that Mario and Irasema are staying in the same hotel as Fidel and Marisa, and Elvira not only uncovers Fidel's ulterior motives with Marisa but also discovers Elisa in the hotel for a sexual toy exhibition. Caught in a web of his own making, Fidel finds himself spiraling deeper into a vortex of lies and deceit. The premise that younger men desire fidelity but cannot maintain it, and older men yearn for infidelity but cannot attain it, becomes Fidel's reality. What was intended as a romantic weekend soon spirals into chaos, painting a vivid picture of a love entanglement gone hilariously awry.
