In the twilight of their fifties, François and Isa find themselves ensnared in the webs of mundane existence. Their life, though seemingly steeped in the comforts of middle-class prosperity, is bereft of the vibrancy of professional ambition and the joyous chaos of children, with only ambiguous insinuations hinting otherwise. François, an inherently anxious soul, grapples with a deep-seated crisis of faith and morality. His attempts to find solace in trivial pursuits - a shopping spree, home improvement, or a dalliance with piano - offer no respite, leaving him seeking refuge in the wisdom of his closest companion.
Contrarily, his wife, Isa, remains an enigma, her stoic exterior masking an aloof indifference. Her reticence adds to the chasm growing between them. François's friend, a perennial bachelor, dons multiple hats, serving as a sporadic marriage counselor and a makeshift philosopher, helping them navigate the labyrinth of their lives.
