Plot

In the heart-thumping world of Knockout (2011), Dan Barnes (Steve Austin), a former pro boxer turned school janitor, trades the roar of the crowd and the thrill of the fight for a quieter existence, trying to escape the echoes of his violent past. When the timid and bullied new student, Matthew Miller (Daniel Magder), crosses his path, their lives intertwine in an unexpected alliance. With bullies incessantly tormenting him, Matthew finds an unlikely mentor in Dan. As the school janitor shares the art of boxing and the strength of resilience, Matthew discovers the power to confront his tormentors, one of whom happens to be the reigning school boxing champ (Jaren Brandt Bartlett). Meanwhile, the journey triggers a metamorphosis in Dan. Through teaching Matthew, he not only imparts his knowledge of boxing but also confronts his own tumultuous past. The school hallways become a different kind of arena where Dan learns to reconcile with his history while helping Matthew write a new chapter of courage in his life. In the gritty and gripping narrative of Knockout, the ring becomes a metaphor for life, each round a test of mettle, and every punch a lesson in standing tall. It's an inspiring tale of mentorship, courage, and redemption, where past and present collide, and underdogs dare to punch above their weight.
