Plot

In the shadowy aftermath of the American Civil War, the half-breed gunslinger Keoma returns to the dust-choked confines of his border hometown. He finds it suffocating under the iron fist of Caldwell, an ex-Confederate raider with a gang of merciless thugs at his command. The town, once a sanctuary, now starves, isolated and deprived of medicine. The specter of death looms over the townsfolk, plagued by disease and despair, abandoned in an ancient mine. The homecoming is soured further when Keoma discovers that his three half-brothers, each a formidable menace, have allied with Caldwell, their disdain for Keoma's return as icy as a winter's chill. Amidst this turmoil, Keoma's path crosses with Lisa, a radiant pregnant woman falsely accused of plague, and his target of rescue from Caldwell's ruthless gang. Spiraling deeper into the town's plight, Keoma reunites with George, his father's former slave turned free man, though now a slave to the bottle. Information flows like bitter liquor, revealing the extent of the town's siege and the desperation of its dying denizens. Struck by the injustice, Keoma decides to act, to restore the lost freedom and dignity of his beleaguered town. Embroiling himself in a deadly dance of revenge, Keoma partners with George to break the chains that Caldwell and his brothers have mercilessly forged. As bullets fly and tensions mount, Keoma finds himself poised not only against his enemies but also against the very town he fights to save, forced to confront the disturbing reality of its inhabitants' depravity. The tale of Keoma is a journey into the heart of darkness, a testament to the indomitable human spirit fighting against the odds in a world gone mad.
