Plot

In the misty expanse of Kodaikanal, we meet Sera (Krishna), Nandu (Karunaas), and Shanmugham (Thambi Ramaiah), individuals who make their living from the tragic suicides that haunt this hill station. Their lives take an emotional turn when Sera recovers the body of a young woman, a victim of love's bitter sting. This sorrowful event paves the way to an unexpected bond as Kavitha (Bindhu Madhavi), the late girl's sister, finds solace in Sera's compassionate nature. As the narrative unfolds, Sera sees in Kavitha an ideal partner, a vision supported by Nandu and his wife Valli (Sujibala). Kavitha's parents, touched by their sincerity, give their blessing for the union of their daughter and Sera, setting the stage for a blissful future. But tranquility is fleeting in Kodaikanal, and the arrival of Ayya (Jayaprakash) shatters their newfound peace. A single act from this shadowy figure plunges Shanmugham, Sera, and Nandu into a whirlwind of trouble. As the plot reaches its climax, the trio must confront the chaos, leading to a breath-taking, blood-soaked showdown. Kazhugu (2012) is a tale of love, friendship, and resilience, set against the haunting backdrop of a hill station's silent specters.
