Plot

In the early dawn of the 20th century, beneath the harsh, sunburnt Australian landscape, a penniless young man named Richard Connor is on a desperate quest to acquire enough money to return to his homeland. While seeking refuge in a Sydney boarding house, he finds himself entangled in a case of mistaken identity as a boisterous, inebriated rancher believes him to be his estranged son. Fate throws Richard into the path of John Gamble, a stranger as destitute as himself. As their desperation peaks, they jointly devise a risky scheme to rob a bustling local gambling house. Their audacious heist leads to unforeseen violence, and they flee into the night, their pockets heavy with stolen loot. By a twist of fate, they cross paths with the drunken rancher once more who insists on claiming Richard as his prodigal son. Eyeing the rancher's vast lands, Richard and Gamble decide to perpetuate the ruse of the long-lost son, their eyes set on a potentially lucrative inheritance. Their plans, however, hit a stumbling block in the form of the rancher's insightful daughter, Dell, whose presence threatens to unravel their intricate web of deceit. "Kangaroo" is a thrilling journey through the rugged outback, filled with gripping suspense, where the pursuit of riches could cost more than one bargains for.
