Plot

In a realm commanded by pencil-pushers and bereft of chivalry, young Justin (Freddie Highmore) dreams of reviving the age of knights, just like his valiant grandfather once was. However, his father Reginald (Alfred Molina), the Queen's (Olivia Williams) chief advocate, envisions a future for Justin in law, not in swordplay. A stirring visit to his loving Gran (Dame Julie Walters) and a heartfelt goodbye to his lady-love Lara (Tamsin Egerton) ignite Justin's courage, propelling him on a quest to earn his place among the legendary Knights of Valour. On his journey, he crosses paths with the spirited and alluring Talia (Saoirse Ronan), a whimsical wizard named Melquiades (David Walliams), and the dashing Sir Clorex (Antonio Banderas). Tutelage under the watchful eyes of three monks — Blucher (James Cosmo), Legantir (Charles Dance), and Braulio (Barry Humphries) — steers Justin through rigorous trials in the age-old traditions of the knights. Despite his unassuming origins, Justin is thrust into a race against time as the exiled knight Sir Heraclio (Mark Strong), backed by a force lead by Sota (Rupert Everett), returns with a vengeance, threatening to obliterate the kingdom. With the kingdom's fate hanging in balance, will Justin rise to the challenge and become the knight he was destined to be? The unfolding adventure promises a tale of bravery, determination, and the strength of the human spirit.
