Plot

In the heart of suburban America, the Baxter family, led by Polly and Phil, enjoy a tranquil life with their three children. Their ordinary existence takes an extraordinary turn when they stumble upon three peculiar trees newly planted in their backyard. These are not your average trees, for they bear a strange and tantalizing fruit - crisp five and ten-dollar bills of U.S. currency. The Baxters, a quintessential American family, had been striving to make ends meet. But now, these mysterious trees, which had accidentally slipped into a nursery shipment, promise an end to their financial woes. However, the sudden windfall from their backyard isn't without its own set of complications. As the Baxter family embraces their newfound wealth, they find themselves embroiled in a series of unexpected situations and dilemmas. The most daunting of these is the disapproving glare of the United States Department of Internal Revenue. The government body looks askance at the idea of citizens cultivating their money on trees, thrusting the Baxters into an unanticipated whirlwind. Polly, the matriarch, decides to spend the money, despite the problems that arise. But there's a logical consequence of money grown on trees that no one, not even the Baxters, had considered. "It Grows on Trees" is a delightful exploration of the age-old saying, 'money doesn't grow on trees', turned upside down and inside out, wrapped in a tale of humor, family, and the unexpected consequences of wish-fulfillment.
