Plot

When Carmen receives news of her husband Gilles' grave accident in the remote Arctic outpost of Iqaluit, she leaves the comfort of her home in Montréal, venturing into the unfamiliar frozen north for the first time. Gilles, a construction entrepreneur, splits his life between the two disparate worlds, a balance that Carmen has never fully embraced until now. As she steps foot into this alien landscape, Carmen finds her husband unconscious, his mysteriously injured body a silent testament to an undisclosed tale. Gilles' injury, a severe head trauma, has left him comatose in a local hospital, his body discovered in a field often used as a shortcut. The circumstances of his accident are shrouded in mystery, with the local police's hands unofficially tied due to a lack of trust from the Inuk community. Desperate for answers, Carmen extends her stay beyond the official visit, delving into Gilles' life in Iqaluit. Her investigation leads her to Gilles' business partner, Victor, a 'southerner' like herself, who provides a glimpse into her husband's Arctic existence. Carmen's quest for answers takes an unexpected turn when she forms a connection with Noah, an Inuk who worked for Gilles and considered him a friend. As they traverse the icy expanse of Frobisher Bay, Carmen realizes that their stories are eerily parallel. Noah, wrestling with his own demons, tries to prevent his son from making irreversible decisions. Through Noah, Carmen uncovers facets of Gilles' life she never anticipated, forcing her to confront the startling reality of her husband's double life in the Arctic chill of Iqaluit.
