Infernal Affairs (2002)

Hong Kong police have long faced off with the ruthless Triads, the mafia-like organizations of the city. A new police tactic attempts to get inside information on the Triads by inserting a mole into their operation. Chan is a cop who successfully infiltrates a major crime group, but the Triad has the same idea. They recruit Lau to pose as a cop so that he can infiltrate the police. Both Chan and Lau manage to rise high in their respective positions but soon face wrenching conflicts as they assimilate and grow to understand their respective organizational masters and fellow soldiers.
