Grieving the tragic loss of their young daughter, Mark and Mary Hughes, along with their son Brendon, retreat from the whirlwind of their upscale suburban existence to the sanctuary of their secluded cottage. A desire for healing and quality family time drives them towards the solace of isolation. Their peaceful respite is soon interrupted by an unexpected visit from their seemingly friendly neighbors, Bobby, Jane, and their son Jared. This family, offering a warm welcome with a gift of wood, extends an invitation for dinner, ostensibly to introduce themselves. However, the evening takes a chilling turn as an innocuous argument between Mark and Bob escalates, revealing Bob's unnerving obsession with perfection. A pleasant dinner is abruptly transformed into a night of terror when Mark, in a surge of anger, expels the intrusive family from his home, only to discover his house is under their relentless siege. When Toby, Mark's brother, arrives for a visit, the Hughes family is thrust into a violent struggle, forced to confront the horrifying depths of Bob's insanity. This daunting encounter pushes them to their limits, compelling them to do whatever it takes to survive. The tranquility of their retreat is shattered, replaced with a desperate fight for survival against a psychopath hidden behind the mask of a neighborly facade.
