Plot

In the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, acclaimed psychiatrist Dr. Aaron Sylvester finds an intriguing patient in Carol Corliss - a stunning starlet drowning in the adulation of her fanbase. To escape the intensity of her fame, Carol often veils her radiant beauty under the guise of a bespectacled, unremarkable brunette or behind a mysterious veil, her fear of her admirers growing by the day. Dr. Sylvester, diagnosing this as a debilitating phobia, prescribes an antidote of solitude, sending her to a serene mountain lake cabin, far from the limelight. To aid in her healing, the doctor enlists the company of Emory Muir, a young and rugged outdoorsman, who views fame with indifference, particularly Carol's. His passions lie in the simpler joys of life - sport fishing and capturing the world through his camera lens. Even as Carol sheds her unassuming disguise, blooming back into her dazzling Hollywood self, Emory remains unmoved by her charm. Things take a twist when Jay Holmes, Carol's co-star and a professed lover, arrives on the scene. A flamboyant actor known for his theatrics, he is determined to win Carol's heart. Amidst the tranquility of the mountains, a tumultuous love triangle is set to unfold, adding to the complexity of Carol's retreat from the public eye.
