Plot
Within the vibrant tapestry that is Paris' 10th arrondissement, a unique friendship takes root. Freshly sprung from the confines of prison, Philippe's life intertwines with that of Avdal, a Kurd passionately hunting an Iraqi war criminal. Avdal, who yearns for a permanent life in France, eagerly anticipates the arrival of his betrothed, Siba, in the City of Lights. His dream is cut short, however, as he succumbs to a sudden, untimely death, leaving Philippe to shoulder the responsibility of his funeral arrangements and the unsettling question: what to do with his friend's remains.
Siba, destined to become a Parisian bride, is instead welcomed to a city steeped in sorrow. Embraced by a community of Kurdish men, she soon crosses paths with Philippe, her departed fiancé's friend. Her striking beauty does not go unnoticed, adding a layer of complexity to this already intricate narrative.
Meanwhile, Avdal's father, Cheto, a man deeply rooted in his Muslim faith, journeys to Paris, bearing the weight of parental grief. Intent on returning Siba to their homeland, he finds a young woman who has tasted the sweetness of liberty and is unwilling to let it go. This intense drama offers a poignant exploration of cross-cultural bonds, the bitter taste of loss, and the intoxicating allure of freedom.
