Plot

In the bustling heart of Boston thrives Isabel Davies, a radiant and successful 30-year-old woman who has an eye for breathing new life into old houses. Her thriving career and vibrant circle of friends are a testament to her fulfilling life. However, her well-intentioned mother Lillian and her best friend Amy are preoccupied with a different kind of restoration project, one that involves Isabel's love life. They persistently insist that without a husband, Isabel is headed for a life of solitude. Haunted by a string of disastrous blind dates and endless nagging, Isabel decides to take a bold step. She resolves to marry the one person who understands her best - herself. This audacious decision, while inviting ridicule from her mother and best friend, is met with enthusiastic support from her flamboyantly gay friend, Bill. Together, they dive headfirst into the whirlwind of wedding preparations, intending to make a statement for all the independent women worldwide. However, Isabel's well-structured plan begins to crumble when she crosses paths with Colin, the charismatic son of her contractor. Initially, she dismisses him as another man who's unlikely to match her standards. But as their paths intertwine, Isabel finds herself drawn to Colin's charm and intelligence. As the romance blooms, Isabel struggles to muster up the courage to reveal her unconventional wedding plans to Colin. As the story leaks onto the internet and then national television, the pressure mounts. Isabel's unique wedding plans draw both supporters and critics, and the spotlight intensifies her predicament. Colin, having discovered her plans on national TV, feels deceived and frustrated. He retreats, leaving Isabel grappling with the aftermath of their shattered romance and the looming self-wedding. With the crescendo of her wedding approaching and the sting of her lost love fresh, Isabel stands at a crossroads. Torn between her convictions and her newfound love, she must decide: will she march forward with her symbolic self-wedding, or will she risk it all to reclaim her love? The story of I, Me, Wed unravels Isabel's journey as she navigates the tumultuous sea of societal expectations, self-love, and the unpredictable realm of romance.
