I Married a Witch (1942)

In the year 1672, amidst the shadows of puritanical fear, two witches, Jennifer and her father Daniel, meet their fiery fates at the hands of the uncompromising Jonathan Wooley. As the flames dance around them, Jennifer places a vindictive curse on the Wooley lineage, sealing a future where the men would forever marry the wrong woman, and live lives steeped in misery. Fast forward to the 20th century, when an unexpected bolt of lightning breaks the supernatural chains binding Jennifer and Daniel's souls to a tree, their prison for centuries.
