Daniel Blake has survived a horrifying bear attack, but that pain pales in comparison tow what he'll have to suffer trying to get his government benefits. He's being denied benefits despite the fact that his doctor's warned him to not strain himself. He'll find some solace in the solidarity he discovers among two of his neighbors. A pair of young Chinese immigrants are trying to navigate the bureaucracy of starting a new business in a global world, while a single mother is having her own struggle getting benefits from the system. Soon, Daniel's cause is entwined with both of them.
