Plot

In the year 2007, Pedro, Arturo, and Eligio were ambitious university students, each with dreams of grandeur, respect, and prosperity, their eyes set on the horizon of their academic pursuits. Fast forward to 2017, and reality has dealt them a hand far from what they had envisioned. Pedro battles the woes of divorce, the torment of a bullying dean, and the monotony of teaching chemistry to disinterested students. Arturo ekes out a living as a home tutor, dealing with difficult students like Jota, a rebellious teen, while Eligio, the nerdy historian, is cornered into working at a gas station by his desperate parents. Their dreary existence takes a turn when Pedro reignites a dormant project - a revolutionary pill designed to enhance concentration. With their backs against the wall, Arturo and Eligio are roped in to test the pill. The unexpected hallucinogenic effects of the pill spark an idea - they decide to pivot to becoming unlikely drug dealers, aided by the street-savvy Jota and Anabel. As they navigate the intoxicating world of nightclubs and party life, their venture begins to flourish. Pedro reignites an old flame with his ex-wife, Gloria, while Arturo begins a romantic tryst with Isa, Jota's mother. Eligio, now flush with quick money, finally commands the respect of his parents. But their newfound successes are short-lived as their lives spiral into chaos. Isa is unveiled as a detective hot on the trail of their illicit pill, Merino, the university dean, uncovers their illicit activities, and they find themselves caught in the crosshairs of Tacho, a flamboyant disco owner demanding a hefty shipment under threat of death. In this frenzy of danger, deception, and dire straits, the question remains - can Pedro, Arturo, and Eligio survive the looming threats and evade the law's cold grasp? The answer lies in the heart of their once innocent belief - they can quit whenever they want. This thrilling tale of friendship, ambition, and survival weaves a captivating narrative of three friends who stumble upon an unexpected journey within the underbelly of society.
