Plot

In the heart of Jerusalem, an uncommon alliance forms within the walls of a nursing home. Yonatan, a prodigious yet stuttering boy, finds himself thrown into the world of his grandfather, Eliahu, a former underground Jewish revolutionary with an icy demeanor. Despite their contrasting personalities, they are unified by their connection to Eliahu's old comrade, Nick, a man of unfulfilled dreams and fiery ambition, and a washed-up English actor drowning in debt, who also happens to be Eliahu's brother-in-law. United by circumstance and desperation, the quartet is bound by one audacious goal: to rob the bank that once employed Yonatan's late father. Their motivation is not just the allure of the loot, but also revenge. The bank, through a cruel twist of bureaucratic fine print, denied Yonatan's mother the compensation due for his father's untimely death. The unlikely crew sees the heist as their chance to exact justice and fulfill their deepest desires. In this blend of drama and dark comedy, "Hunting Elephants" explores the lengths to which these unlikely outlaws will go to make their final wish come true.
