In the aftermath of an unexpected tragedy, Tom Winters, a long-absent father, is thrust into the taxing role of single parenthood. Struggling to understand and nurture his three precocious children, he unwittingly stumbles upon an unlikely savior in the form of a rebellious Italian socialite, Cinzia. Eager to escape the overbearing clutches of her orchestral conductor father, Cinzia's life collides with the Winters family when she returns the runaway youngest son, Robert.
