Plot

In the complex world of international espionage, veteran CIA field agent Miles Kendig is a master. Stationed in West Europe, he successfully concludes a two-year operation, only to be benched by his power-hungry yet incompetent new boss, G.P. Myerson. Kendig's 'crime'? Refusing to neutralize the Western European head of the KGB, Mikhail Yaskov, a move that was never part of his original plan. Fed up with Myerson's antics and unwilling to be chained to a desk, Kendig effectively resigns by vanishing without a trace. His next move? A daring gambit of revenge and self-therapy. Kendig decides to pen a tell-all memoir, ready to expose not just the secrets of American intelligence, but the hidden truths of all major powers he's privy to. His primary target: Myerson, ripe for public humiliation. From his secluded hideaway, he begins his audacious task, sending the first explosive chapter to Myerson, the CIA, and other intelligence agencies, promising them a grand finale that will put all their operations at risk. Aware of the lethal consequences if he's apprehended, Kendig engages in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Myerson, eager to silence Kendig, tasks his successor, Joe Cutter, to track him down. Despite Cutter's admiration for Kendig, he's certain that the veteran will eventually slip, allowing them to halt his dangerous disclosure. As Kendig continues his evasive maneuvers, the CIA stumbles in their pursuit, constantly outwitted by their former agent's cunning tactics. However, one potential weakness may jeopardize Kendig's masterful plan: his loyal girlfriend, Isobel von Schönenberg. A retired intelligence agent based in Salzburg, she's the only constant in his unpredictable life. As she aids Kendig in executing his audacious strategy, the question remains: Will their alliance prove to be his salvation or his downfall? In the thrilling movie 'Hopscotch,' watch as a disgruntled agent turns the world of espionage on its head and a bumbling CIA scrambles to restore order before their secrets are laid bare for all to see.
