In the shadowy underworld of crime, deported mob kingpin Nick Ferraro yearns to reclaim his rule in the United States. His ambitious plan requires the help of Dan Milner, a down-on-his-luck gambler fresh from jail, with nothing but a hazy future ahead. Ferraro manipulates Milner's misfortune, offering him a tantalizing sum of $50,000 to disappear for a year.
