In the thrilling spectacle of "Hero of the Wild" (1977), Tu Ta Shen, a regional martial arts titan who also serves as a principled assassin, embarks on an epic journey to seal his legacy. He sets his sights on the other champion, the formidable Nan Pa Tien, intending to unify both titles and cement his position as the ultimate warrior.
His path is lined with adversaries, including a defeated man whose shattered pride propels him towards a tragic end. As his life ebbs away, he implores Tu Ta Shen to vanquish a band of Manchu loyalists, ironically commanded by Nan Pa Tien, in acknowledgment of Tu Ta Shen's honour.
Meanwhile, the fallen man's son, Sa Woo, blinded by anger and grief, attempts to avenge his father by challenging Tu Ta Shen but finds himself grossly outmatched. Recognizing the fire in Sa Woo, Tu Ta Shen pledges to mentor him, equipping him with the skills necessary to enact his revenge.
Together they venture forth, bound by promises made; one sworn to a dying man, the other fuelled by the thirst for vengeance. This tale weaves a compelling narrative of honour, vengeance, and the relentless pursuit of supremacy in the unforgiving world of martial arts.
