Hellgate (2011)

In the throbbing heart of Bangkok, American businessman Jeff Mathews returns, his beloved wife Kyle and son Som in tow. A routine visit to Kyle's parents quickly spirals into a nightmare when a pickup truck crashes into their car at a red light. Jeff's world descends into darkness, waking five weeks later from a coma to the chilling news of Kyle and Som's demise. As Jeff struggles to recover, his world is further distorted by horrifying visions and nightmares, a spectral parade of ghosts and demons that refuse to let him be. His nurse, the empathetic Choi Luang, becomes his guide through this disorienting labyrinth. She introduces him to Mae Noi, her cousin's aunt, a woman with mysterious insight into the world that has ensnared Jeff. Mae Noi reveals the terrifying concept of the World of Shadows to Jeff, a limbo-like realm where souls relive their last moments in an endless loop of despair. It becomes horrifyingly clear that Jeff's connection to this shadowy realm is unusually strong, a tether that tugs at his very soul. Desperate for a way out, they seek the help of Warren Mills. The shocking revelation awaits Jeff: his soul is imprisoned in the World of Shadows. The only way to piece himself back together is to brave the darkness, confront the specters of his nightmares, and wrestle his soul back from the World of Shadows.
