In the heart of the roaring oil fields, we meet Chance Buckman, a fearless fire-fighter wrestling with the wild flames that rage from ruptured oil rigs. However, when a newsman's reckless act leads to a bulldozer veering into Chance, he finds himself confined to a hospital bed, forced to confront the toll his dangerous career has taken on his personal life.
As the hospital's sterile walls close in, Chance grapples with his crumbling marriage, the flame of love extinguished by the fiery chaos of his work. He's also compelled to confront his fears concerning his headstrong daughter's growing interest in the perilous world of oil fires.
To add fuel to the fire, Greg, a brash yet skilled veteran oil firefighter, steps into Chance's boots. As the cocky newcomer takes the helm and woos Chance's daughter, Chance must learn to temper his protective instincts and accept the changing dynamics.
In the midst of burning oil fields and family tension, Chance struggles to rekindle the spark with his estranged wife of over 25 years. Simultaneously, he battles with the fear of losing his daughter and her husband to the same dangerous profession that has consumed his life.
