Plot

In the oppressively hot outskirts of Marseilles, the life of young Amelie, a supermarket cashier, flutters under the sizzling sun. Her days are spent in the relentless rhythm of scanning barcodes, the monotony broken only by the unexpected appearance of her enigmatic boyfriend, Luigi. His tall, lanky figure and deep-set, dark eyes bring a hint of mystery and romance to the mundane landscape of her life. Simultaneously, Anne, Amelie's heavyset mother, embarks on a journey towards the city's heart. An air of secrecy shrouds her departure, her destination undisclosed and her intentions cryptic. Her mysterious appointment, the importance of which only unfolds as the narrative progresses, creates a thread of suspense that ties the characters together. Meanwhile, Georges, an elderly man whose life seems as unremarkable as the others, goes about his daily routine. His seemingly benign activities, from grocery shopping to the inexplicable loading of his shotgun, add an undercurrent of creeping tension. The simplicity of his actions belies a darker purpose, the motives of which remain concealed. On this scorching day in the south of France, these four lives intersect in a dance of fate and secrets. As their individual narratives unravel, they become entwined in a tragic tapestry, their hidden truths surfacing in a series of shocking events. 'Heat Wave' is a simmering cauldron of mystery and emotion, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and the heat of the sun is matched only by the heat of unfolding drama.
