Plot

In the sultry haze of late 1970s Haiti, amidst a backdrop of azure seas and burning sun, three North American women, Ellen, Brenda, and Sue, seek solace from their mundane lives. On the cusp of middle age, they are women forsaken by love in their homeland, coming to this tropical paradise to bask in the attention of young, handsome locals, their desires ignited for a modest price. Ellen, an intellectual French literature professor from Boston, Brenda, a dissatisfied wife from the charming Savannah, Georgia, and Sue, a sexually stifled yet affable Canadian factory worker, find themselves in this modern-day Eden. Here, they are free to explore their sensual desires, turning a blind eye to the stark poverty and the terrifying reign of Baby Doc's dictatorship that shadows this paradise. However, paradise is not without its problems. The heart of the conflict brews when two of the three women set their hearts on one man, the enigmatic Legba. Tired of his role as a mere object of desire, Legba is on the brink of rebellion. This tale of romance, rivalry, and rebellion is sure to captivate viewers as it unveils the complexities of hedonistic escapism amidst societal turmoil.
