Plot

In a world veiled by duplicity, Flicker Hayes, an ex-con, finds himself orchestrating a faux robbery to serve poetic justice to the men who led him to prison. When one of the duped duo, Dan Curly, manages to escape and the other ends up on the wrong side of the law, a dangerous game of cat and mouse ensues. With revenge on his mind, Dan puts a bounty on Flicker's head. Flicker, planning an overseas escape, unexpectedly crosses paths with Rose Lawrence, a former lady of the night with dreams of a fresh start in a quaint fishing village in the south. Charmed by her raw honesty and determined spirit, Flicker decides to accompany Rose, hoping the village's tranquility could serve as an ideal hideout. Their journey together stirs up passion and unexpected affection, with Rose finding herself drawn to Flicker's complex personality. However, their burgeoning romance is threatened by the stealthy pursuit of Pop Sims, a spy in Dan's payroll who traces Flicker's steps and reports back to his vengeful master. Unbeknownst to Flicker, his past is catching up, with hitmen on his trail and a storm of danger brewing. As love and peril intertwine, Flicker must face the looming threat, all while keeping the truth hidden from the woman who has unwittingly captured his heart.
