Plot

In the realm of myth and medicine, twins Erica, a college professor and writer specializing in mythology, and Heather, a dedicated pediatrician, share a bond as deep as the universe's mysteries. Their children, Sarah and David, mirror their mothers' closeness, nurturing a sibling-like connection. Their lives are steeped in harmony until tragedy strikes when David is fatally hit by a car in a freak accident. The loss shatters their world, but strangely, Sarah begins to profess that she still communicates and plays with her deceased cousin. As Erica grapples with her daughter's unsettling claims, she discovers she's pregnant and must adhere to a restful regime. Simultaneously, Heather confronts the harsh reality that she cannot bear any more children. Seeking tranquility, Erica retreats to a lakeside cottage, accompanied by her maid, Rosie. Rosie's startling revelation that David's spirit, unable to comprehend his abrupt death, lingers in limbo, anticipating a chance for reincarnation, falls on Erica's skeptical ears. Dismissing Rosie's claims, Erica decides to stay in the house with Sarah and Heather. However, when David's spirit manifests a hostile interaction with Sarah, Erica is compelled to reconsider her disbelief. In desperation, she calls upon Rosie to intervene, setting the stage for a supernatural struggle against an unseen force. Their tale is a haunting exploration of grief, belief, and the unseen bonds that tie us to the afterlife.
