Happy Ever Afters (2009)

In the heart of Dublin, we find Maura, a struggling single mother facing eviction and the repossession of her furniture. To keep a roof over her and her nine-year-old daughter, Molly's heads, she agrees to a marriage of convenience with Wilson, an African immigrant on the brink of deportation. Molly, in her innocence, is thrilled at the prospect of gaining a father. Simultaneously, we meet Freddie, a man caught in the intricate dance of love and commitment. After a divorce and a rekindled romance, he's all set to re-marry Sophie, his once and future bride, who has been starving herself back into her former wedding gown. As fate would have it, both wedding receptions are booked at the same quaint inn, leading to a hilarious sequence of crossed paths and mixed signals. As Freddie and Maura's worlds collide repeatedly, a paranoid Sophie suspects an affair brewing, triggering a cascade of misunderstandings. Adding another layer to the chaos, immigration officers are in hot pursuit of Wilson, while young Molly is slowly piecing the perplexing adult world together. To top it all off, Sophie's overbearing father threatens Freddie with dire consequences if anything goes awry.
