In the bustling heart of Jabalpur, we meet the Chand clan, a family helmed by the widowed Lal and his two sons. The narrative's pulse quickens with Vijay, the younger and more eccentric of the two brothers. His whimsical nature and staunch refusal to marry make him a thorny issue for his father. Eventually, he is nudged out of the familial nest, left to forge his own path.
Strapped for cash and driven by the allure of Bombay, Vijay ingeniously adopts the guise of a 12-year-old, aided by a cryptic man named Rajababu, who curiously claims to be his long-lost uncle. In a city that teems with life and opportunity, Vijay stumbles through a series of odd jobs, his journey peppered with comic missteps and fleeting employment.
His life takes a turn when he steps into an electronics store specializing in radios and tape recorders. It is here that he encounters Rajnidevi, also known as Asha, a woman with eyes that hold dreams and a heart that matches his own. Love blooms amidst the chaos, and they decide to intertwine their lives, with Vijay convincingly playing the role of the hapless 'Munna' to win Asha's affection.
However, their love story is suddenly thrown into turmoil by the arrival of Lily, a woman who alleges to be Vijay's wife. The plot thickens as Vijay is whisked away to a mental asylum by Lily and Rajababu, leaving Asha and the audience questioning their true identities and motives.
