Gun City (2018)

In the turbulent year of 1921, Spain is caught in the throes of upheaval. Veteran soldier, Aníbal Uriarte, now turned cop, is dispatched from the heart of Madrid to Barcelona's bustling streets. His mission: to unearth a significant cache of military weaponry, suspected to have been pilfered by anarchistic revolutionaries from a train. Upon his arrival, Uriarte is introduced to the city's underbelly, teeming with corruption and deceit. He crosses paths with Inspector Rediú, a crooked cop, his henchmen Tísico and the youthful Beltrán, and the notorious El Barón, the proprietor of the infamous cabaret, Eden. El Barón exploits his dancers and indulges in creating explicit films for the elite, all while orchestrating a complex web of power and influence. Parallel to this, Salvador Ortiz leads a peaceful rebellion at a prominent city company, advocating for workers' rights, while his daughter Sara, a telephone operator, champions a revolution of her own, defending women's rights. As Uriarte navigates this tumultuous sea of conspirators, he strikes a deal with El Barón, aligning himself as an informant. He soon finds himself saving Salvador during a police siege, pulling him deeper into the city's intricate power play. The tension escalates as León, a passionate worker, advocates for armed revolution, and Tísico grows suspicious of Uriarte's alliances. Time is of the essence as General Martínez Anido plans a military invasion to eliminate the anarchists. Uriarte's sole hope to avert a potential coup and a catastrophic massacre is to locate the stolen weapons, expose Rediú's corruption and El Barón's machinations, all while seeking the aid of Salvador and Sara. In a city teetering on the brink of chaos, will Uriarte survive long enough to unmask the imminent danger threatening to engulf Barcelona and save thousands of innocent lives?
