Plot

Harper, a timid soon-to-be Harvard Law student from a prestigious San Francisco family, finds her life veering off course when she crosses paths with Connie, a seasoned bohemian photographer. Captivated by her untouched beauty and latent talent, Connie invites Harper under his wing, both as his protégé and lover, likening their relationship to that of the legendary Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keefe. He dubs her his “Guinevere,” only for Harper to discover she's not the first to bear the title. Battered by the revelation, Harper flees, only to return, disillusioned by her sterile family environment. Under Connie's idiosyncratic tutelage, she experiences a cultural and intellectual awakening yet remains untouched by the lens of her mentor's camera. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when Connie, battling financial strain and a growing drinking problem, decides to sell some of his work in Los Angeles. On this transformative journey, Harper finally steps behind the lens, marking not only her first photograph but also the beginning of her emancipation from awe and dependence. The story of Guinevere is a compelling tale of discovery, identity, and the captivating power of art.
