Good (2020)

On the cusp of a life-altering decision, Payton, a young Black man, stands at the crossroads of ambition and integrity. Caught in the labyrinth of society's expectations, he is offered a golden ticket to the upper echelons of Black society through a potential marriage. However, a hidden secret lurks in the shadows - an unborn child with his ex-girlfriend. Desperate for money and a respite from his unsuspecting fiancé, Payton finds an unexpected ally in Gregory Devereaux, a wealthy yet stubborn regular from his favorite late-night haunt. Hired as a caretaker by Devereaux's estranged daughter, Payton finds himself being drawn into the rich tapestry of Gregory's life, becoming his confidant and companion in his twilight years. For a while, it seems like Payton's problems have been swept away by the ebb and flow of his new life. But as Devereaux's life enters its final act, and with Payton's wedding bells and the baby's birth looming ominously on the horizon, the shadows of Gregory's past sins start to bleed into Payton's present. Caught in the whirlwind of revelations, Payton is forced to stare into the mirror of his own morality. He is left to grapple with the consequences of his decisions and the man he wants to become.
