Golden Horns (1973)

In an era long past, a majestic deer crowned with golden horns reigned within the forest's heart, its purpose to safeguard the meek and scorn wickedness. On the outskirts of this mystical woodland, a humble abode sheltered the widow Yevdokya, her twin daughters, Mashenka and Dashenka, her young son, and their wise, old grandfather. A day of destiny arrived when the twins, eyes wide in horror, witnessed bandits attempting to seize the golden-antlered deer. Enticed by forest spirits into the woods' enigmatic depths, the girls soon find themselves at the mercy of the irate witch, Baba Yaga. In a cruel twist of fate, they are transformed into delicate fawns. Concurrently, Yevdokya, tormented by the absence of her daughters, embarks on a desperate quest. As a reward for defending the golden-antlered deer from the robbers, she receives a magical ring, a beacon of protection against the lurking dangers. Guided by the deer's cryptic counsel, she sets her sights on the crimson sun and the crystalline moon, but their light fails to penetrate the enchanted forest's shadows. Amid this turmoil, the brave boy, accompanied by his loyal feline companion, ventures into the unknown in search of his lost family. Trapped between reality and enchantment, they must navigate the forest's secrets to reunite and break the witch's spell.
