Plot

In the heart of the 1980s music scene, we meet Billie Frank, a reserved multiracial girl with a troubled past. As a child, she was torn away from her alcoholic mother and found refuge in an orphanage, where she formed an inseparable bond with fellow orphans Louise and Roxanne. Fast forward to the heart of the neon-lit 1983, Billie's life takes a vibrant turn when record producer Timothy Walker stumbles upon their raw talent, enlisting them to sing backup for his latest pop sensation. However, it's the superstar DJ Julian Dice whose ears are captivated by Billie's soul-stirring voice. He orchestrates a dubious deal with Timothy, freeing Billie from the shadows of backup singing. Together, Billie and Dice set the music world alight, creating chart-topping hits in the studio and falling head over heels in love outside it. Yet, the dazzling lights of fame cast long shadows. The burden of her sudden celebrity status weighs heavily on Billie, pushing her to a crossroads. With the world watching, she must decide what she truly desires from her relationship with Dice, and more importantly, what path she wants to tread in her own life. Glitter is a journey of self-discovery, love, and the price of fame, set against the pulsing backdrop of 80s pop culture.
