Plot

In the realm of the written word, Guido is a master, penning novels and tales steeped in melancholy. His life reflects his art - distant, introspective, and somewhat detached. His existence shifts when his wife and adolescent daughter relocate, leaving him to the solitude of his craft. His solace is found in the cool embrace of the swimming pool where Giulia, a brooding, enigmatic instructor, becomes his guide. Their interactions are sporadic, punctuated by Guido's attempts to draw her into his nocturnal world. Giulia, however, remains an enigma, cloaked in the mystery of the night that she refrains from exploring. Guido's narratives come alive, painting a tableau of forlorn characters on a quest for elusive fulfillment. Guido finds himself embroiled in his daughter's journey through the labyrinth of first love, even as he distances himself from the race for a coveted literary accolade. His wife's plea for reconnection falls on deaf ears as Giulia becomes his obsession. He dedicates himself to unraveling her, peeling back the layers of her past. His intervention in her life blurs the line between fiction and reality, raising the question: Can an author truly script reality?
