Gift Wrapped (1952) unfolds on a magical Christmas Day, where mischief and mayhem intertwine within the cozy confines of Granny's home. Our rascally protagonist, Sylvester, the cat, kicks off the holiday hijinks by cunningly swapping the tags on his presents with those of his doting owner, Granny. As she unwraps her "gift," she is taken aback by the perplexing present of a rubber mouse, only to unravel the truth when Sylvester regurgitates a flurry of Tweety's feathers. Sylvester's relentless pursuit of Granny's new pet, Tweety Bird, serves as the rhythm to the festive madness. However, the tables turn when Tweety distracts the feline foe with a surprise “gift” of his own - a burly bulldog, disconcertingly discovered beneath the towering Christmas tree. The bulldog’s voracious appetite for Sylvester adds a layer of unexpected terror for the cat, turning the predator into prey. Despite the temporary respite offered by Granny's eviction of the bulldog, Sylvester resumes his relentless chase. He ingeniously employs a toy steam shovel and diverts a toy train, creating innovative ploys with childlike toys to satiate his predatory instincts. However, Granny's patience wears thin with Sylvester and the bulldog's carnivorous capers, leading to a comedic climax. As the film nears its end, with a heartwarming Christmas song softly playing, Granny firmly stamps her foot down, quite literally, over the mouths of the troublesome puddy tat and doggy, signaling an end to their wild Christmas antics.
