Plot

In the heart of high school, where popularity and teenage friendships reign supreme, Franky Winter and Ballas Kohl have woven a bond of camaraderie that mirrors the friendship of their parents - Carly and Ray Winter, and Angie and Nic Kohl. However, the recent revelation of Ray's homosexuality and subsequent divorce has left him somewhat estranged, his new partner Brendan being his sole confidante. As swim team members, Franky and Ballas bask in the warmth of popularity, with Ballas leading as the team captain. Ballas ignites a romance with Jessica, while the charismatic Franky, armed with insider information from his friend Mouse - a boy inhabiting a girl's body - is poised to explore his own sexual journey with Cil. The two plan their first intimate encounter for Franky's seventeenth birthday. Meanwhile, Ballas' sister Tash, marred by scandalous rumors and seeking solace in stolen alcohol, steadily re-enters the school scene. However, when Franky and Cil's long-anticipated intimate moment crumbles, a night of drunken revelry with Ballas takes an unexpected turn, pushing them into a hushed-up sexual encounter. The whispers of this encounter ripple through their school, painting Franky as the 'gay one' and shattering his social standing. Shunned by his friends, including Cil and Ballas, Franky is forced to confront his own sexual identity while grappling with his latent homophobia towards his father. In this coming-of-age narrative, Franky must navigate the treacherous waters of self-discovery, sexuality, and acceptance, all while balancing on the precipice of adulthood.
