Plot

Get Married If You Can (2014) is a riveting tale of love, deception, and self-discovery, set against the backdrop of impending nuptials and the wild allure of the jungle. The story revolves around two vastly different sisters, Ana Paula and Daniela, portrayed with nuanced charm by Martha and Miriam Higareda. Ana Paula, the bride-to-be, dreams of a perfect wedding, an ideal life, and an impeccable husband. Her world, however, is shattered when she discovers her fiancé's illicit affair with her cousin. Drowning her sorrows in alcohol, she inadvertently ends up in an untamed jungle, far away from her picture-perfect city life. Here she stumbles upon Erik, a humble doctor serving the indigenous colonies, who challenges her notions of a perfect life. With his guidance, Ana Paula begins to appreciate life's simple pleasures and begins to question her impending marriage. Simultaneously, Daniela, the free-spirited sister, nurses a childhood crush on her best friend but lacks the courage to confess her feelings. When she finds herself playing the role of his girlfriend during his father's birthday celebration, to counter his family's teasing about his lack of a love life, the line between pretense and reality begins to blur. As the celebration continues, both Daniela and her best friend start to realize their feelings for each other may not be as platonic as they originally thought. "Get Married If You Can" is a captivating exploration of love, courage, and the complexities of human relationships, where two sisters, each on their unique journey, discover that life and love are rarely picture-perfect but often far more beautiful in their imperfections.
