Plot

In the bustling heart of Lucknow, Ghulam Hussain, compelled by dreams of a better life, decides to leave his ailing mother and devoted wife, Khairun, and venture into the sprawling metropolis of Bombay. His journey leads him to his trusted friend, Lalulal Tiwari, who secures him a humble job cleaning taxis. In time, Ghulam masters the art of navigating Bombay's teeming streets and earns his place as a taxi driver. Yet, despite his relentless toil, he finds it impossible to amass enough savings to return to Lucknow. Meanwhile, Lalulal, despite years of dwelling in Bombay and cherishing a love affair with the enchanting Yashodra, finds himself struggling to escape the clutches of poverty. He resides in a ramshackle tenement, continually threatened with demolition by the unforgiving Bombay Municipal Corporation. In a city of dreams and despair, will Ghulam and Lalulal manage to uplift their lives, or will they remain trapped in the relentless struggle of day-to-day survival? The story of Gaman explores the harsh realities of urban migration, weaving a tale that is as poignant as it is profound.
