Plot

Amidst a city set ablaze, "G.B.H." is a gripping tale of chaos, crime, and consequences. In the heart of this urban inferno stands Damien (Nick Nevern), a cynical London cop who is as complex as the bedlam he contends with. Far from the archetypal "bobby", Damien's methods blur the line between right and wrong, but his commitment to quelling the city's unrest is unwavering. His world spirals when a friend pilfers from a bar where his girlfriend works, leading to a rupture in their relationship. As the narrative leaps back and forth in time, we're introduced to Louise (Kellie Shirley), Damien's fresh-faced partner, navigating her duty amidst the tumult while caring for her disabled father, a casualty of violence craving independence. The plot intricately weaves together provocative cases: a truant child claiming a malfunctioning elevator, jeopardizing his mother's benefits; a young soccer fan bullied for his loyalty while his father serves in Afghanistan; a black man, recurrently appearing after a minor traffic offense. Each subplot feeds into the overarching narrative, hinting at their potential contribution to the climactic event. Damien, an ex-football hooligan with anger simmering beneath the surface, finds love in the chaos with Louise. But as the riots intensify, he is trapped in a war within and outside himself. The countdown is on: two weeks before the event, one week, one hour. Each tick of the clock heightens the tension, with the specter of a fateful soccer ball in a deserted parking garage looming ominously. "G.B.H." is an engrossing saga that shrewdly explores the multifaceted nature of crime, love, and duty in a city at war with itself. As Damien grapples with his past and fights a losing battle against the rioters and his inner demons, the movie leaves us questioning: What happens when the line between law and disorder blurs? Who takes the fall when the city crumbles?
