In the small town of Kenosha, Wisconsin, high school sweethearts and academic stars, Darcy Elliot and Stan Bobrucz, find themselves at the precipice of adulthood. Darcy, the spirited editor of the school newspaper, has her sights set on the University of Wisconsin's journalism program, while Stan, a part-time worker at his father's shoe store, is on the brink of a full scholarship to Caltech for architecture.
