Flipper's New Adventure (1964)

When Porter Ricks, a recent widower, embarks on a journey to become a park ranger, he leaves his adolescent son, Sandy, in the reliable hands of a neighbor, back at their home in the idyllic Florida Keys. Sandy's only companion is his loyal pet dolphin, Flipper. As Porter's absence stretches, a storm brews at home: the family's abode, built on state land, is destined for demolition to make space for a highway, threatening to separate Sandy from his beloved Flipper. In a desperate bid to keep Flipper by his side, Sandy takes a daring leap of faith. He steals away on his skiff, with Flipper in tow, plunging headlong into the unknown. Amidst the confusion, a distraught Porter returns home, his world turned upside down by the disappearance of his son. Simultaneously, the Hopewell family from Britain find themselves in the heart of a perilous adventure. While vacationing in the Florida Keys, their peaceful sailboat journey is hijacked by three ruthless escaped convicts. They kidnap the patriarch, Halsey, leaving behind the terrified Hopewell women - Julia and her teenage daughters, Gwen and Penny - adrift in the vast, daunting ocean. Their desperate struggle for survival leads them to the island where Sandy and Flipper have found refuge. Despite fearing detection and forced return to his previous life, Sandy, assisted by the ever-intelligent Flipper, becomes the silent guardian angel for the stranded women. The youngest, Penny, becomes privy to their existence, igniting a spark of hope. However, the convicts' greed escalates when they learn about the Hopewells' wealth, leading them to return to the island with the sinister plan of seizing all the Hopewells for a hefty ransom. Little do they know, Sandy and Flipper are prepared to put up a fight, turning the serene island into the stage for a thrilling showdown.
