Flashback (1990)

In the twilight year of 1989, enterprising young FBI agent John Buckner is given a mission that takes him on an unexpected journey. He is assigned to escort the relic of a bygone era, Huey Walker, a heavily-bearded hippie who once held the spotlight as a celebrated radical. Tasked with transporting Huey back to prison for crimes committed in the flower-power era, Buckner finds himself on a time-travelling adventure on wheels as they board a train together. But Huey, a man still brimming with the audacity of the sixties, is far from a compliant captive. He stages a cunning escape, duping the clean-cut Buckner with a mixture of alcohol and trickery. The tables are turned as Huey steals Buckner's gun, handcuffs, and even his identity, leaving the young FBI agent shackled and shamed in the very prison that was meant for Huey. When the egregious error is unearthed, Buckner bursts free from his chains, kickstarting a thrilling pursuit. Along the way, he stumbles upon a pair of well-meaning refugees from the 60's, adding a vibrant layer to this unexpected escapade. As the chase unfolds, Buckner and Huey, two men who seem to be polar opposites, find themselves entwined in a shared adventure. As the lines blur, it becomes increasingly clear that appearances are deceptive, and the once straightforward mission evolves into an intricate dance of pursuit, identity, and unexpected camaraderie.
