Firepower (1993)

In the not-so-distant future of 2007, society has been upended by rampant crime, rendering bustling metropolises like Los Angeles uninhabitable wastelands. These urban jungles have been morphed into "Hell Zones," lawless territories under the ruthless rule of violent street gangs. A particular Hell Zone in Los Angeles, once celebrated as a "Zone of Personal Freedom," has devolved into a dystopian playground for the notorious criminal mastermind Drexal (Joseph Ruskin). The city pulses with the anticipation of Drexal's deadly gladiator-style contests in the aptly named "Death Ring," where victors bask in a glory that often costs the defeated their lives, if not their dignity. Amid the chaos, two daring cops, Braniff (Chad McQueen) and Sledge (Gary Daniels), plunge into the heart of this urban nightmare, risking their badges and their lives. They have been dispatched undercover to unravel a sinister black market operation dealing in counterfeit AIDS vaccines. However, to expose the truth, they must first survive the blood-soaked battleground of the Death Ring, where the game is merciless and the odds are stacked against them. In this world where lawlessness rules, will Braniff and Sledge emerge victorious, shedding light on the dark underbelly of the Hell Zone, or will they become the latest victims of this ruthless game? Firepower paints a vivid picture of a dystopian future where survival is the only law and justice is a dangerous game.
