In the sun-blistered borderlands between Texas and Mexico, Lisa, the resolute wife of a beleaguered gold-miner, Paul Martin, narrowly escapes the clutches of Chato's ruthless gang of bandits. With her husband's life hanging in the balance, Lisa ventures into the barren expanse, her eyes set on the distant town in hopes of finding help. Her desperate plea catches the attention of Joe Collins, a fallen Confederate officer turned mercenary, who agrees to aid her, albeit with a glint of greed in his eyes for a slice of the gold. Collins, a man acquainted with the language of violence, assembles a hodgepodge crew of avaricious misfits ready to brave the perilous journey. However, the intoxicating allure of gold has the power to morph men into monsters, and Lisa's beauty is not lost on these unscrupulous men. As they traverse the deadly terrain of Chato's territory, the question looms - will they manage to survive the treacherous journey, let alone with their humanity intact?
