Plot

In the heart of the glamorous Cannes Film Festival, the spotlight unexpectedly falls on Odile Deray, the somewhat beleaguered media coordinator for the abysmal B-movie, "Red is Dead". Her task, to promote this cinematic catastrophe, seems doomed to failure as the festival's elite dismiss it as an unworthy spectacle. However, life takes a sinister turn and begins to imitate art in the most dreadful ways. One by one, the projectionists responsible for screening the film meet their untimely demise, each murdered in the chilling style of the villain from "Red is Dead", with the eerie choice of a sickle and hammer as their end. Suddenly, the dismissive press and the Cannes' glitterati are stirred into a frenzy, their attention snared by the macabre events surrounding the movie. As the body count rises, the police are compelled to intervene, deploying the stern and stoic Serge Karamazov to safeguard the remaining potential victims. With every passing day, the allure of the film grows, and the once-ignored "Red is Dead" starts drawing packed houses, with the crème de la crème of Cannes clamouring for a place. In "Fear City: A Family-Style Comedy", witness an unassuming B-movie rise from the ashes of ridicule to become the talk of the town, intertwined with a spine-chilling murder mystery that blurs the line between the cinematic and the real.
