Fade Away (2016)

In the shadowy urban landscape of Liberty City, where high school dropout rates skyrocket and a dark destiny of crime, drug dealing, and violence seems to be the only inheritance of its teenagers, emerges Kenny, a bright, young basketball prodigy. Defying societal shackles and resisting the magnetic pull of gang culture, Kenny finds solace and purpose in his pursuit of hoops. An exceptional talent, he secures a sports scholarship to a prestigious university, providing an avenue out of his bleak neighborhood. But life has a cruel way of leveling the playing field, and a series of unfortunate circumstances prematurely curtails his promising college career, sending him spiraling back to the grim reality of Liberty City. With doors of employment virtually non-existent, Kenny finds himself on the precipice of a perilous path, a road that might lead him into an abyss from which there may be no escape.
