In the bleak corners of adolescence, the antisocial high-school misfit, Pauline, finds herself grappling with the complexities of her life. Marred by a shabby appearance and a troubled complexion, her ordinary existence is riddled with typical teenage tribulations - the incessant quest for acceptance, the turbulent mother/daughter conflicts, and the daunting journey towards losing her virginity.
